Vinter storage

Ok it’s been some time since i posted and i feel ashamed about the lack of posts when i read other blogs that have great posts. But i have to say that it feels kinda stupid when i’m not sure if anybody reads this blog :).

How ever. The van is now in vinter storage in my friends grandmas barn. So i guess when the snow is guaranteed to be gone next year. We will start with summer prepere .This will probably happen in April sometime. We will try to find a garage where we could fix the rust and put in the camping interior. So a promise to this will be not to do anything undocumented. Every thing i will do with the van will be photographed. The blog needs it.

Ramalamadingdong!

F yeah, i got it running! To be honest my dad held the ignition key. All it needed was a boost from a helper battery. But it was still tough to start. So there is Someting wrong. So tomorrow. Testing testing! And mabey some videos! So long!

One objective completed!

Ok, so i checked the fuses and apperantly none of them handles the ignition or fuel pump. But i got another suggestion from a guy in the swedish type 2 club’s forum. A common problem with T3’s is that the ignition lock does not give the ignition the right amount of electricity when aged. So i have to check this with a multimeter. All i have to do now is to find my multimeter…

New objectives

Ok so i got some new tips and ideas on how to troubleshoot and fix and get my van to start.

  • Check the fuses.
  • Se if the spark plugs ignites.
  • Se if the fuel pump is giving the carburator any gas.

It won’t start! Fuck fuckedifuck! Kasper has been having some problems to start cold but today when me and Erik where going to go to his grandma, where i’m putting the van for the winter, Kasper was just plain dead… So i went over the spark plugs and bought a can of ignition gas (It’s called “Start gas” in sweden) and nothing. My parents are coming to visit me next week though. Me and my dad will not run out of things do.

Awesome DIY bow!

I want this in my van!

I spent the whole day at work thinking about awnings. This is my idea:
One big pipe, cut in half. Big enough to be able to contain the whole awning rolled up. You mount it to the roof rails as in the realistic drawing above.
Tarp with folded edges at both ends. In each fold you put a pole. The pole at the front has a loop at each end that the supporting poles with spikes at the end go through.
Two support poles with spikes at one end
Two or four sets of line and tent spikes.
Feel free to use this awesome idea, but don’t forget about me!

I could switch places with this person. I’d have no problem with that.

I guess we where to excited to fix the van. Under the black color there where some rust repairs that also came of with the aceton. So we had to cover these spots with some rust color and cheap paint to hold up until spring when it’s warmer and we can do a better job removing all the rust.

We hated the color, it was rolled over the original pastel white paint job and had started to peel. So i took my girlfriends nail polish remover (Aceton) and the paint came right of leaving the original paint job untouched! An old man that lives in my building walked by ,very excited. But when he saw the small bottle i was working with he almost shouted to me “You going to remove the paint with that nail polish? You will have to buy several hundred liters!?”. It only took us 8 liters! :)
